In this episode, 10-year-old Brielle Horwitch discusses her upcoming role as Charlie in Deerfield Family Theater’s production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Despite her young age, Brielle brings considerable stage experience to the role, having performed in around 20 shows including Les Misérables (as Young Cosette and Young Eponine), The Sound of Music, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and The Music Man. This will be her third time performing in a Willy Wonka-themed production, though this version is unique as she is the only child among the golden ticket winners, with young adults playing the other winners.
Brielle shares her passion for musical theater, which was inspired by her older sisters’ performances. She’s excited to work with adult performers, noting that it helps elevate her acting skills. Brielle has extensive experience having seen numerous Broadway shows including Wicked, Mean Girls, The Lion King, Frozen, and Six (both in New York and London). Also, opening night of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory coincides with her birthday!
